The Dolphins

(and other Marine wildlife)

People often ask us about the dolphins - if we see them, how far out are they and so on. The answer is yes we do see them most of the time; sometimes they are at the jetty, or right up the beach in the shallows. Other times they may be on the sea grass beds working with groups of stingrays (the sea bed hoovers).

They may be in a playful mood and come over to the boat, which is a pure delight- or they may be too busy feeding or mating to be bothered with us, they are wild animals, perfectly free in there own environment. Our cruises are not specifically Dolphin orientated, and we are more comfortable treating them as being free (of charge!), which takes the obligation off the dolphins to perform and takes the pressure off of us if they don’t show up!!!

Having said that there are approximately 130 bottlenose dolphins in and around Rockingham waters, they know our boat quite well now after 8 years and the chances of a really cooool encounter are fantastic!

Other marine wildlife that we often see are sea lions, fairy penguins, cormorants, terns, pelicans, stingrays, and occasionally hammerhead sharks, turtles, black swans, sea snakes and flying fish.
